Are YOU ready for the SURGE?
CPSM is so excited to announce the launch of a brand new event this fall, just for middle school students! Welcome to SURGE!
Surge (ˈsərj) is defined as a sudden rise or increase in current or voltage. It’s an increase of energy! And we believe that middle school students are experiencing a surge of their own. It’s a sudden rise to who God created them to be, a sudden rise to the next stage of their lives, and a sudden rise to leadership. And we believe the next generation of leaders are ready for the surge.
So we created this: SURGE. It’s an event designed specifically for 6th-8th graders starting on select Tuesdays this school year. SURGE is a high energy, action packed, fun-filled, “holy cow, did that just happen,” event. SURGE is the perfect event for students to bring their friends to. In fact, that’s the point. This is not your grandma’s church service! Unless your grandma’s church service includes a ridiculously cool band, crazy games (sometimes messy), awesome giveaways and free food. In which case, then yes, just like grandma’s church. This is a place for ALL middle schoolers to come, hang out, eat food, jump around, play games, and have an amazing time. And in the process they hear about Jesus and maybe find out a little more about who they are.
The question is this: Are YOU ready for the SURGE?
SURGE kickoff is on AUGUST 20, 2019 and there will be free Chick fil a sandwiches for the first 100 students who show up to SURGE!

Frequently Asked Questions:
When and where does SURGE take place?
SURGE happens on certain Tuesday nights during the school year and starts at 6 PM. Parents will pick students up each night at 8 PM. SURGE takes place in the Lower Worship Center of Center Pointe Christian Church.
You said something about free food… what about that?
Oh yes. Every time SURGE happens, we will feed the masses! Now don’t expect a full, five course meal, but typically we will have Chick fil a, pizza, burgers, etc. Simple stuff, perfect for hungry middle schoolers!
Who is SURGE for?
SURGE is for any and all Middle School Students in the greater Cincinnati area. We consider middle school as 6th-8th grade! Students do not have to be a part of a small group to participate. Honestly, they don’t even have to have been to church before. In fact, that’s really who this is for. Again, this isn’t your grandma’s church service. But no hate on grandmas, they are the best!
Can my student bring a friend?
Absolutely. In fact, it’s encouraged. We want them to bring as many friends as they’d like!
Does this replace Sunday morning small groups?
It does not. Sunday morning small groups for middle school will still happen every week at 10 AM. Small groups are not a part of SURGE, but we would love to get students connected into small groups after they come hang with us at SURGE!
Can parents attend SURGE?
If it’s your first time bringing your students and you want to hangout in the back, we don’t mind at all, just make sure you get a visitor tag when you check your student in, but each semester we are going to have a Parent Night as well. What this means is we will run a special program for parents alongside SURGE. You will get a chance to meet our team, ask questions, and hear some encouragement from another parent’s perspective. And you’ll also get to worship with the band, and check out the games we’ve got going that night with the students! We will let you know when these special parent nights will take place!
