About CP Kids

At CP Kids, we believe the greatest impact happens when the church and families work together. That is why we partner with parents to help kids build a lasting faith both on Sundays and throughout the week. We serve children from birth through 6th grade, offering fun, safe, and age appropriate environments where they experience interactive, Bible based teaching. At the heart of it all are our small groups, where kids are known, loved, and led by trusted leaders who help them grow in their understanding of God’s Word and His love.

Nursery

Our Nursery is a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where even the youngest children can experience the love of God. Each room is led by caring volunteers who show God’s love through intentional play, comfort, and connection. As children grow, they are introduced to simple Bible based activities like songs, stories, crafts, and games that help them begin building a foundation of faith in a loving and supportive space.

Preschool

Preschoolers enjoy a safe and welcoming space where they can sing, dance, play, and discover the wonder of these three foundational truths: God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever. At the heart of everything we do is small group time—where caring leaders help kids begin to build relationships and connect God’s truth to their everyday lives.

Elementary

Elementary kids are divided into three environments: Kindergarten and 1st Grade, 2nd–3rd Grade, and 4th–6th Grade. Each week begins with a high energy large group time filled with fun games, worship, and engaging Bible teaching. The heartbeat of CP Kids is small groups where kids build relationships, ask questions, and apply God’s Word in ways that stick with the help of a trusted leader.

Move Up Day

August 17th

We’re getting ready for an exciting new school year, and we’d love to have your child in a small group! If your child is age Preschool to 6th grade, please register them below for a small group at one of our three services (8:15, 10, or 11:45am).

On Move Up Sunday, and all kids will transition to their new groups that weekend. Until then, they’ll remain in their current groups and environments.

Thank you for partnering with us in helping your child grow in faith, friendship, and their relationship with Jesus!

Kindergarten Jump

September 21st / All Services

Your child’s not the only one making a jump. Let’s jump in together!

You’ll start the event with your child’s small group in the K–1 environment, then head to the Multipurpose Room for a short time of encouragement and practical tools for this new season. Snacks included, of course!

Attend during the service your child normally attends:
8:15 • 10:00 • 11:45

Plan for your child to stay for two services—Kindergarten Jump during one, Rally Room the other.
They’ll have a blast, and you’ll still be able to attend adult worship! Got other kids? No problem—they’re welcome to stay for two services too!

Footprints of Faith

September 28th / 10:00am

If your child has expressed an interest in becoming a Christian or taking a next step of faith by being baptized, it is an exciting time!

We have designed ‘Footprints of Faith’ as a baptism class specifically for you and your child to explore baptism together. Footprints of Faith is a fun, engaging class for parents and kids to hear about God’s free gift of salvation. We will dig into God’s Word to see what He says about baptism and resource parents as you lead your child to Christ.

We encourage your family to take care advantage of our CP Kids Rally Rooms. You can attend Footprints of Faith at 10:00 and Adult Worship at 8:15 or 11:45

Child Check-In

Planning a first-time visit to CP Kids?  Complete the pre-registration form below or bring your child to the CP Kids Check-In Desk located in the main lobby.

Safety First

Your child’s safety is our top priority. All volunteers complete background checks and receive training to follow our safety guidelines and emergency procedures. Every child is securely checked in and picked up using a matching security tag system to ensure they leave with the right person.

CP Kids Anywhere

CP Kids partners with families by providing weekly age-specific videos, devotionals, and easy-to-use parent guides that you can access anytime and anywhere. Whether at home, on the go, or wherever life takes you, these resources make it simple and fun to keep the conversation about Jesus growing all week long.

Check Out Our Milestones

Milestones are events that mark and celebrate a significant moment or change in a person’s story. Of all the moments to celebrate, these are the moments that matter most.

Jason Brown

Director of CP Kids

Jason accepted Christ as a young child and was very blessed to have parents and grandparents who made it a priority that he learn about Jesus from an early age. Jason grew up in the Cincinnati area before moving to Jacksonville, Florida to attend Trinity Baptist College. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Church Ministries, Jason became the Children’s Pastor at Trinity Baptist Church. While in that role, he met his wife Taylor and they married in 2017. They have since added to their family their daughter Emmy, son EJ, and a gold lab named Sassy.

Jason served at Trinity Baptist Church in Jacksonville for ten years before relocating to Ohio to join the CP Kids team in 2024. As an avid Bengals and Reds fan, Jason is thrilled to be back home in Cincinnati. The Brown family enjoys frequenting local parks together as well as building legos. Jason is excited to help kids and families at Center Pointe learn about Jesus and grow in their faith.

Karen Reed

CP Kids Content Coordinator

Karen joined the Center Pointe staff in December 2003 and has served in many roles over the years, primarily supporting CP Kids. Currently, she plans and coordinates our programming content for preschool and elementary children. Karen enjoys this creative role and desires to offer hope and faith-building encouragement to children and their families.

Karen and her husband Mike were married in 1992 and have two boys, Evan & Wesley. Center Pointe has been a place for their family to call “home” since November 2000.

Lisa Smith

CP Kids Environment Coordinator

Lisa has been at Center Pointe since 2000, except for 4 and a half years when she and her family lived out of state. She has a long history of ministry service here, having served in Women’s Ministry Leadership between 2001-2004, and in CP Kids as a Small Group Leader Coach between 2009-2017. She is passionate about God’s Word and its life-changing impact. She loves the opportunity to use her creativity to help enhance CP Kids teaching and environments.

Lisa received a BA in Public Relations and Business from Xavier University. She and her husband, Paul, married in 1995 and have two sons, Matthew and Ben. Lisa enjoys reading, hiking and traveling. In true Cincinnati spirit, she loves cheering on the Reds and Bengals.

Phil Hamilton

CP Kids Connect Coordinator

Phil was born in Cleveland and raised in Cincinnati, so he is one of those individuals straddling the Browns and Bengals fandom. Phil received a Bachelor of Arts from Bowling Green State University and works in the video transfer business. He has been married to his wife Chris since 1997 and together they have two young adult daughters, Gabby and Ally. He and his family have been attending CPCC since 2003. Phil describes his faith  journey as a winding road but he finally got there and was baptized by Shawn Spradling in October 2011.  Phil faithfully served as a Large Group Leader in CP Kids for nine years before joining the staff team!

Phil’s favorite thing to do with his sweet family is to simply be together and laugh. They also like to see live music as a family. Phil also enjoys cooking and sports. His favorite part of his role as the CP Kid Admin is seeing God work through everyone involved at Center Pointe.

Kristin Sanders

CP Kids Volunteer Development Coordinator

Kristin Sanders is excited to join the CPCC staff as the CP Kids Volunteer Development Coordinator. She and her family became members of Center Pointe Church in early 2024 and soon began serving in CP Kids and leading a small group. With a background in elementary education from Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Kristin has taught English and Social Studies at a Christian school and led youth ministries with her husband, Josh, across Iowa, Ohio, and Indiana. In 2013, she became the KidMin Director at a church in Oxford, Ohio, and has also led KidMin seminars nationally for Group Publishing.

Kristin grew up with a strong faith in Jesus, but key moments in her life, like financial struggles in ministry and her daughter’s severe brain injury, challenged and deepened her understanding of faith. She learned that true faith isn’t about forcing God’s response but trusting Him with her whole life, even in hardship. Today, Kristin reflects on God’s constant goodness, faithfulness, and grace, knowing He is always present and worthy of her trust, no matter the circumstances.

Kristin and Josh, married in 1999, have four children and two Labradoodles. Over the years, they have focused on fostering a home full of love, laughter, and deep conversations, especially as they navigate the “launching” of their young adult children. Kristin is passionate about equipping others for ministry, drawing inspiration from Ephesians 4, where Paul speaks to the importance of leaders training the Body of Christ for service. She looks forward to growing the CP Kids ministry through steady prayer, encouragement, and support and is thrilled to be part of a team where God’s goodness and faithfulness are displayed in both joy and hardship.

Kendall Saplis

Interim CP Kids Volunteer Development Assistant

Born in Bright, Indiana, and raised in Monroe since 2007, Kendall has been part of the Center Pointe community since age 10 and is joining as interim staff for the summer of 2025. Kendall has a passion for worship and serving others. She has been involved as a worship leader, nursery volunteer, and small group leader for 4th grade girls.

Outside of CPCC, Kendall works as an Assistant Teacher at Early EDGE Learning Center, as well as working at Garver Family Farm Market. A lifelong athlete, she has played softball for years and now coaches a 12U softball team. When not on the field, Kendall enjoys working on her wildflower garden, cheering for the Reds and Bengals, and spending time with her dog Tanner and cat Mikey.

Kendall decided to follow Christ in 2017 after being plugged into a small group at Center Pointe and supported by her family. She loves seeing people get excited about Jesus and building connections with those around them.
