About CP Kids

CP Kids offers three age-specific ministries with interactive, biblical teaching and activities for every stage. Our goal is to partner with parents to plant seeds of faith and ensure each child has a blast exploring God’s word and experiencing His love.

Nursery

Our goal in the Nursery is to embrace a child’s physical needs. We do this by providing a safe, fun, and interactive place where kids learn to know, love, and follow Jesus! Each room follows a loose schedule of age-appropriate bible activities including games, crafts, songs, stories, and scriptures.

Preschool

Kids from birth to pre-K enjoy a safe place where they can sing, dance and play as they discover the wonder of these 3 truths: God Made Me, God Loves Me and Jesus Wants to Be My Friend Forever.

Elementary

Kids are divided into two elementary environments: Grades K-1 and Grades 2-5 where they will experience fun & creative large group teaching and apply the Bible lesson in a small group setting

Family Movie Night

February 28th | 7 PM

Hey friends! Get ready for CP Kids’ annual Family Movie Night, and it’s going to be a blast! Join us for a delightful evening, complete with popcorn, candy, and an awesome movie on our giant LED screen in the adult worship center. The movie, “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs,” will begin at 7 PM—such a fun pick! Don’t forget to mark your calendars—we can’t wait to share this fun night with all of you! We can’t wait to see you there!

Footprints of faith

March 9th | 11 AM

If your child has expressed an interest in becoming a Christian or taking a next step of faith by being baptized, it is an exciting time! We have designed “Footprints of Faith” as a baptism class specifically for you and your child to explore baptism together. Footprints of faith is a fun, engaging class for parents and kids to hear about God’s free gift of salvation. We will dig into God’s Word to see what He says about baptism and resource parents as you lead your child to Christ.

We encourage your family to take care advantage of our CP Kids Rally Rooms. You can attend Footprints of Faith at 11 & Adult Worship at 9:15.

Renewed Parenting

Three-Part Class: March 16, 23 & 30 | 11 AM

Parents, how many times in the past month have you regretted how you reacted to your child, wishing you could have responded differently? Romans 12:2 encourages us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Our thoughts and beliefs shape our emotional and behavioral responses. By renewing our minds, we can develop new thought patterns and intentionally craft responses that align more closely with Christ’s love. Join us for a three-part class starting on March 16th.

Child Check-In

Our hope is to make this as easy as possible. If you are preparing to visit Center Pointe for the first time, you can complete the pre-registration form or bring your child to the CP Kids check-in area when you arrive.

Safety First

All volunteers complete a background check and receive training on safety guidelines and emergency procedures. Each week when you check in, you and your child will receive a security sticker that is matched at pick-up time.

Join Us At Home

Continue the conversation at home and connect your child with God’s Word. Our weekly online videos and parent guides will help you continue the conversation about Jesus in a fun way.

Check Out Our Milestones

Milestones are events that mark and celebrate a significant moment or change in a person’s story. Of all the moments to celebrate, these are the moments that matter most.

Jason Brown

Director of CP Kids

Jason accepted Christ as a young child and was very blessed to have parents and grandparents who made it a priority that he learn about Jesus from an early age. Jason grew up in the Cincinnati area before moving to Jacksonville, Florida to attend Trinity Baptist College. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Church Ministries, Jason became the Children’s Pastor at Trinity Baptist Church. While in that role, he met his wife Taylor and they married in 2017. They have since added to their family their daughter Emmy, son EJ, and a gold lab named Sassy.

Jason served at Trinity Baptist Church in Jacksonville for ten years before relocating to Ohio to join the CP Kids team in 2024. As an avid Bengals and Reds fan, Jason is thrilled to be back home in Cincinnati. The Brown family enjoys frequenting local parks together as well as building legos. Jason is excited to help kids and families at Center Pointe learn about Jesus and grow in their faith.

Karen Reed

CP Kids Content Coordinator

Karen joined the Center Pointe staff in December 2003 and has served in many roles over the years, primarily supporting CP Kids. Currently, she plans and coordinates our programming content for preschool and elementary children. Karen enjoys this creative role and desires to offer hope and faith-building encouragement to children and their families.

Karen and her husband Mike were married in 1992 and have two boys, Evan & Wesley. Center Pointe has been a place for their family to call “home” since November 2000.

Lisa Smith

CP Kids Environment Coordinator

Lisa has been at Center Pointe since 2000, except for 4 and a half years when she and her family lived out of state. She has a long history of ministry service here, having served in Women’s Ministry Leadership between 2001-2004, and in CP Kids as a Small Group Leader Coach between 2009-2017. She is passionate about God’s Word and its life-changing impact. She loves the opportunity to use her creativity to help enhance CP Kids teaching and environments.

Lisa received a BA in Public Relations and Business from Xavier University. She and her husband, Paul, married in 1995 and have two sons, Matthew and Ben. Lisa enjoys reading, hiking and traveling. In true Cincinnati spirit, she loves cheering on the Reds and Bengals.

Phil Hamilton

CP Kids Connect Coordinator

Phil was born in Cleveland and raised in Cincinnati, so he is one of those individuals straddling the Browns and Bengals fandom. Phil received a Bachelor of Arts from Bowling Green State University and works in the video transfer business. He has been married to his wife Chris since 1997 and together they have two young adult daughters, Gabby and Ally. He and his family have been attending CPCC since 2003. Phil describes his faith  journey as a winding road but he finally got there and was baptized by Shawn Spradling in October 2011.  Phil faithfully served as a Large Group Leader in CP Kids for nine years before joining the staff team!

Phil’s favorite thing to do with his sweet family is to simply be together and laugh. They also like to see live music as a family. Phil also enjoys cooking and sports. His favorite part of his role as the CP Kid Admin is seeing God work through everyone involved at Center Pointe.

Kristin Sanders

CP Kids Volunteer Development Coordinator

Kristin Sanders is excited to join the CPCC staff as the CP Kids Volunteer Development Coordinator. She and her family became members of Center Pointe Church in early 2024 and soon began serving in CP Kids and leading a small group. With a background in elementary education from Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Kristin has taught English and Social Studies at a Christian school and led youth ministries with her husband, Josh, across Iowa, Ohio, and Indiana. In 2013, she became the KidMin Director at a church in Oxford, Ohio, and has also led KidMin seminars nationally for Group Publishing.

Kristin grew up with a strong faith in Jesus, but key moments in her life, like financial struggles in ministry and her daughter’s severe brain injury, challenged and deepened her understanding of faith. She learned that true faith isn’t about forcing God’s response but trusting Him with her whole life, even in hardship. Today, Kristin reflects on God’s constant goodness, faithfulness, and grace, knowing He is always present and worthy of her trust, no matter the circumstances.

Kristin and Josh, married in 1999, have four children and two Labradoodles. Over the years, they have focused on fostering a home full of love, laughter, and deep conversations, especially as they navigate the “launching” of their young adult children. Kristin is passionate about equipping others for ministry, drawing inspiration from Ephesians 4, where Paul speaks to the importance of leaders training the Body of Christ for service. She looks forward to growing the CP Kids ministry through steady prayer, encouragement, and support and is thrilled to be part of a team where God’s goodness and faithfulness are displayed in both joy and hardship.
