Double our Kingdom impact in the next 5 years
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
Matthew 28:19-20
In accordance with the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20 to make disciples, our vision is to double our Kingdom impact in the next 5 years through a strategy of personal and church multiplication
Personal Strategy
We will challenge each person who is part of the Center Pointe family to multiply themselves by helping at least one person find and follow Jesus so that people outside of our church can experience the good news where they live, work, and play.
Church Strategy
We will launch a second campus in a nearby community so that we can multiply our Kingdom impact beyond Liberty Township, while also creating space onsite to reach more people in our community.
Third Service
Our first step towards launching a second campus is to launch a third service to create more space, both in our building and our parking lot, for more people to experience the unconditional love of Jesus. So later this summer, on August 17, 2025 our new service times will be 8:15, 10:00, and 11:45.
CPKids environments will be offered at all three services and we’re creating a brand new environment for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. CPStudents will have a combined program on Sunday nights. For more information on these changes, click here.
An additional service requires additional volunteers, so we’re challenging everyone who calls Center Pointe “home” to “sit one, serve one.” Worship during one service and serve during one service (some of our ministries offer the opportunity to sit and serve during the same hour). Programming Changes to CPKids and CPStudent Ministries
What are we doing?
Beginning August 17, 2025, CP Students will launch a Sunday night opportunity to free up space and to be more available for serving opportunities during morning services. Middle school and high school will meet together for student programming on Sunday evenings which will consist of large group teaching and then time together in the small groups they are currently in. The time is still to be determined.
Sixth grade is joining Kids Min to be part of a brand-new environment! Our CPKids team is creating a brand-new pre-teen environment for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders, which will meet in the student center on Sunday mornings during all three services. So if you have a 5th grader, they will not be moving up this fall to CPStudents, but instead, will remain in CPKids.
Why are we doing it?
A practical reason: In order to give families the most flexibility on Sunday morning, we need to offer the same programming for all three services, but we don’t actually have the space to do that for middle school and high school. But more importantly, we believe that dividing students between three different hours will dramatically impact the quality of the program. It’s possible to have only a handful of students at one service and 50+ at another. We believe it’s best to keep the students together. The caveat to this is our special needs ministry called CPUnlimited. We will only offer it at 10:00 and 11:45, at least starting out.
A relational reason: We want to promote families worshipping together. Not only do we believe there is great value in this, the data shows that students who worship with their families and begin serving in the church as early as middle school are significantly more likely to continue their faith journey post graduation. Students are facing many of the tough topics we tackle in adult worship. We think it’s important for them to be in our services in order to lay a solid, Biblical foundation for them to stand on as they navigate the spiritual and cultural landmines that exist. Sitting with their parents will create opportunities to keep the conversation going beyond Sunday morning. And…when families worship together, there’s a good chance they’ll ride together too. Win/Win!
A missional reason: We want students to invite their friends to a Jesus focused experience outside of Sunday morning. A consulting group we’ve been working with found in their research that kids who are not involved in church are far more likely to come with a friend to something outside of Sunday morning. We hope this new program time and focus will serve as an easy way for students to invite their friends.
For years, our student ministry environments have been the primary way for students to engage their faith. But we want to shift their primary engagement to the Sunday morning adult service where they can “sit one, serve one” with the rest of us, and then attend a Sunday evening student program that supplements their faith. We don’t believe the next generation is the future of the church. We believe they are the church, right now. So, we want to integrate our students into the life of the church and mobilize them for ministry rather than relegating them to their own program. We believe these changes will allow us to be even more intentional about helping kids find Jesus, and then follow Him for a lifetime.
