About CP Students

Every weekend students are invited to join us for their very own worship services. Every service is designed to help students understand their identity in Christ, connect in community, challenge them to live out the gospel, and of course have a ton of fun!

What You Can Expect

The student experience at Center Pointe is designed around four types of events to help our students live out the gospel.

Groups

We believe students are not made to walk alone. Groups are a safe place for students to explore their faith, ask hard questions, be encouraged, and experience the bond of spirit filled community. 7th-12th, boys and girls small groups meet on Sunday evening as part of their service.

Parents

Parent Events are all about informing parents and equipping them as the primary influencers and trainers of their families. The goal of these events is to communicate how our ministry desires to walk alongside parents as they develop a family rhythm of discipleship with their students.

Outreach

Outreach events are where we emphasize reaching the lost by providing a fun experience, like a Color War or Blacklight Party. The goal of these events is to create a welcoming environment to draw in the disengaged, share the gospel, and allow students the opportunity to respond.

Hangouts

Hangouts are specifically intended for small groups to have fun together! Hangouts can be as simple as watching a football game or as adventurous as a day at the zoo. The goal of these events is to connect relationally through shared experiences amongst students and leaders.

Formal/Informal

February 15 | 6-8 PM

Mark your calendars for an unforgettable evening where everday life transforms into elegance. Dress in your most glamorous and fanciest attire and bring a decadent dessert to share!

Enjoy dinner, worship, a message, and entertaining games! This event blends sophistication, meaning, and just plain fun — so invite a friend and prepare for an extraordinary night!

Nerf Wars

March 1 | 6-8 PM

Join CPSM for Nerf Wars on March 1st from 6–8pm!  This event is for all students grades 7-12. You don’t want to miss the opportunity to pelt your small group leaders with Nerf ammo!  There is NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED!  Just show up!

This is a B.Y.O.N.G. (Bring Your Own Nerf Gun) event.  We ask that the Nerf guns you bring be labeled with your student’s name and do not bring any additional ammo.  Have your student load their Nerf gun(s) full with ammo at home, and when they leave the church we will have them leave with full Nerf guns.  We also ask that there be no motorized Nerf guns at this event, thus making the game harder and ultimately more fun!  Please have your student wear safety glasses. We cannot wait to see you there!

Baptism?

If you have made a decision to follow Christ, we encourage you to take the next step of Baptism. We believe it is an outward public testimony of an inward invisible transformation. If you would like to schedule a baptism or if you would like to learn more about baptism, we can help.

Connect with your group

We believe that students are not meant to live life alone, and that is why Groups are so important. The goal of every Group is to provide authentic community and spiritual growth for our students.

Volunteer With Us

Whether you assist with check-in, lead a small group, or serve on mission with students, you will have the opportunity to make a life-long impact. We have a variety of opportunities to allow you to use your gifts and talents. You won’t regret it!

Tony Spranger

Family Ministry Pastor

Tony grew up in a small town in Illinois. He was introduced to the Christian faith through the example given by his stepfather. Tony grew up in the church and had the knowledge of faith from a young age. During the summer after his junior year in high school, he surrendered his life to Jesus and was baptized. Tony and his wife, Amber, attended rival high schools and began dating as seniors. They were married in 1998. They have since added four children to their family: Caleb, Joshua, Ben, and Rebekah. Caleb and Joshua are both currently in college. Ben and Rebekah are middle school students. As a family, the Sprangers love to frequent Kings Island and get the most out of their season passes. They also love playing games as a family, attending sporting events, and watching movies. Tony’s favorite teams are the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and FC Cincinnati. Tony graduated from North Central University in Minneapolis, MN, with a degree in Pastoral Studies with an emphasis in Student Ministry. He has served in Student Ministry for over 20 years in Illinois, Minneapolis, and Cincinnati. He was also on staff with Fellowship of Christian Athletes for three years. Tony is excited to join our growing community here at Center Pointe and looks forward to getting to know our students and their families.

Riley Plyler

Student Pastor

Riley joined the Center Pointe staff in January 2026 after moving to the Cincinnati area from Erie, Pennsylvania. Prior to CPCC, Riley served as the Youth Coordinator at Elevate Church in Erie, where he led both the student ministry and elementary ministry. He has a passion for helping students understand and engage with Scripture effectively.

Riley grew up attending a Lutheran church, where he participated in Sunday school through confirmation. Like many, his faith took a backseat during his teenage years as sports and other interests took priority. That changed during his freshman year of college when a friend invited him to a non-denominational church. Drawn in by authentic worship and a message he could truly understand, Riley continued attending and soon gave his life to Jesus. He immediately began serving in student ministry and quickly sensed a vocational calling to help students grow in their faith.

Riley holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Kent State University and a Certificate in Pastoral Leadership from Samford University. He also attended medical school at LECOM, pursuing a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree before ultimately stepping away in 2023 to follow God’s clear call into full-time ministry.

Riley enjoys playing golf, pickleball, and watching college and NFL football. Riley is excited to build relationships, serve alongside the CPCC team, and invest in the next generation as they discover who God is and how He is working in their lives.

Riley Latham

CP Kids & Students Worship Coordinator

Riley was born and raised in Cincinnati. He joined the CPCC staff team in 2023 to serve with both the CP Kids and CP Students teams. He loves that playing and worshiping with the Student Worship Team allows him a front row seat to watch God move through young people. Riley grew up in church, where under his dad’s leadership as the Children’s Church Leader, he accepted Christ as a young child. He grew up serving the local church in many different capacities. His favorite and primary way of serving has been in worship and tech teams. He loves to be out in nature, particularly hiking, and watching football with his family. Riley is looking forward to seeing what God will continue to do through him in this new role at Center Pointe.

Kendall Saplis

Family Ministry Intern

Born in Bright, Indiana, and raised in Monroe since 2007, Kendall has been part of the Center Pointe community since age 10 and is joining as interim staff for the summer of 2025. Kendall has a passion for worship and serving others. She has been involved as a worship leader, nursery volunteer, and small group leader for 4th grade girls.

Outside of CPCC, Kendall works as an Assistant Teacher at Early EDGE Learning Center, as well as working at Garver Family Farm Market. A lifelong athlete, she has played softball for years and now coaches a 12U softball team. When not on the field, Kendall enjoys working on her wildflower garden, cheering for the Reds and Bengals, and spending time with her dog Tanner and cat Mikey.

Kendall decided to follow Christ in 2017 after being plugged into a small group at Center Pointe and supported by her family. She loves seeing people get excited about Jesus and building connections with those around them.
