About CP Students

Every weekend students are invited to join us for their very own worship services. Every service is designed to help students understand their identity in Christ, connect in community, challenge them to live out the gospel, and of course have a ton of fun!

What You Can Expect

The student experience at Center Pointe is designed around four types of events to help our students live out the gospel.

Groups

We believe students are not made to walk alone. Groups are a safe place for students to explore their faith, ask hard questions, be encouraged, and experience the bond of spirit filled community. Middle School small groups meet on Sunday morning as part of their service. High School small groups meet through-out the week.

Parents

Parent Events are all about informing parents and equipping them as the primary influencers and trainers of their families. The goal of these events is to communicate how our ministry desires to walk alongside parents as they develop a family rhythm of discipleship with their students.

Outreach

Outreach events are where we emphasize reaching the lost by providing a fun experience, like a Color War or Blacklight Party. The goal of these events is to create a welcoming environment to draw in the disengaged, share the gospel, and allow students the opportunity to respond.

Hangouts

Hangouts are specifically intended for small groups to have fun together! Hangouts can be as simple as watching a football game or as adventurous as a day at the zoo. The goal of these events is to connect relationally through shared experiences amongst students and leaders.

Christmas Chaos Parties

December 22nd | 9:15 & 11 aM

Who needs a calm Christmas when you can have Christmas Chaos? Join us on December 22nd for an unforgettable morning at our festive parties during our usual service times, 9:15 AM (Middle School) and 11 AM (High School).

Get ready for a whirlwind of wacky games, mouthwatering treats, and the joy of friends coming together to tackle hilarious Christmas challenges! Let’s shake things up this season – because a predictable Christmas is just too boring. Bring your holiday spirit and your competitive edge; it’s time to embrace the fun!

Friday Night Friend-Z

January 17-18 | 9PM-6AM

This highly anticipated, wildly fun event returns to CPSM on January 17th!

Join us for an all-night event beginning in the Student Center at 9 PM. At midnight, all middle school students will move to THE WEB for a night of arcade games, go karts, and MORE! High school students will stay at the church for a lock-in stacked with games, food, FUN!

This is an outreach event, students are encouraged to bring their friends. In the midst of all the sweat and fun, students & their friends will hear about Jesus! It’s going to be a crazy night full of fun, friends, and games! The $40 cost includes food & drinks, plus unlimited Arcade Game play, Laster Tag, and Go Karts. We can’t wait to see you there!

Baptism?

If you have made a decision to follow Christ, we encourage you to take the next step of Baptism. We believe it is an outward public testimony of an inward invisible transformation. If you would like to schedule a baptism or if you would like to learn more about baptism, we can help.

Connect with your group

We believe that students are not meant to live life alone, and that is why Groups are so important. The goal of every Group is to provide authentic community and spiritual growth for our students.

Volunteer With Us

Whether you assist with check-in, lead a small group, or serve on mission with students, you will have the opportunity to make a life-long impact. We have a variety of opportunities to allow you to use your gifts and talents. You won’t regret it!

Riley Latham

CP Kids & Students Worship Coordinator

Riley was born and raised in Cincinnati. He joined the CPCC staff team in 2023 to serve with both the CP Kids and CP Students teams. He loves that playing and worshiping with the Student Worship Team allows him a front row seat to watch God move through young people. Riley grew up in church, where under his dad’s leadership as the Children’s Church Leader, he accepted Christ as a young child. He grew up serving the local church in many different capacities. His favorite and primary way of serving has been in worship and tech teams. He loves to be out in nature, particularly hiking, and watching football with his family. Riley is looking forward to seeing what God will continue to do through him in this new role at Center Pointe.

Lauren Gates

CP Students Ministry Admin

Lauren was born and raised in Cincinnati and graduated from The Ohio State University as a trip major in International Business, Management of Human Resources and Spanish. After graduating from OSU, she and her new husband, Matt, moved to Houston, Texas for 19 years. In 2022 they moved back to the Cincinnati area, and joined the Center Pointe family! Lauren was added to the staff team in 2024.

Lauren and Matt have four children, Andrew, Sarah, Levi and Seth. They also have a calico cat, Gracie. As a family they enjoy traveling and exploring national parks by camping, hiking, snorkeling and white water rafting together. Kids’ sports, band performances, karate and theater are all also a large part of their lives.

Lauren accepted Jesus at 11 years old at a Christian rock festival. Her faith became rooted while participating in missions trips to Russia. She had the opportunity to help run VBS programs at an orphanage and a children’s hospital and experience being the hands and feet of Jesus. Her trips to Russia were life-changing and allowed her to discover her passion for adoption and service. These giftings God has been growing in her are now being used as she serves families here, at Center Pointe.
